The Takeaway

How would you like to watch Carl Bass, Jon Hirschtick, and Gian Paolo Bassi go head-to-head-to-head on stage?

The Details

This year’s edition of Develop3D Live, March 26 in Warwick, UK, is shaping up to be quite an event if you follow the CAD industry. Video of key meetings will be streamed over the Web, including the Autodesk, Onshape, SolidWorks three-way mentioned above.

Organizer Martyn Day says D3D Live will broadcast main stage presentations free over the web, both live (GMT) and with delays for US East Coast (EDT, GMT +5) and US West Coast (PDT, GMT +8) audiences. The registration site [UPDATED INFO] is now live at the following link: REGISTER HERE

Day is rightfully excited about this year’s event: “Got a pretty cool line up of CAD CEOs and VPs, the whole Bass [Autodesk CEO], Hirschtick [Onshape Chairman/Founder] and Gian Paolo [Bassi, SolidWorks CEO] dust-off, with PTC and Siemens watching…. We have the head of HP’s 3D printer division plus some great designers working on stuff like America’s Cup Yachts, Space Rockets and phone/shoe-based navigation.”

The mainstage presentations will end with a final panel discussion with Bassi, Hirschtick, and representatives from Mainframe2, Schneider, and Kenesto CEO Mike Payne to discuss next-generation CAD, collaboration, and the cloud, “which could get a bit boisterous,” notes Day. “Might be worth getting some popcorn.”
